Thank you. We still have lots to do. We still have a webshop open and some great deals online and a few fixtures left but our hearts are full and we are grateful beyond words and meaning. (Not pictured here: the full on tears that came uncontrollably upon leaving today 🥹) We don't know how to express what the experience of shepherding our shop has meant to us, but hearing that we meant so much to you has felt redemptive, reassuring, a balm for 4 years of feeling like we failed and not getting to do what we've loved most: talking to you and sharing in joys, sorrows, frustrations, etc. we've loved being matchmakers, helping you find just the right thing for your current needs whether it's an outfit or a gift, for occasions big and menial. We've loved how many of you have been vulnerable with us, encouraging us and sticking with us as we worked to be more size inclusive, thoughtful, and aware. We are in awe that so many of you we've talked to or who have sent us notes in the past 6 weeks are folks who have helped shape Velouria through working the shop, having your line in here, exhibiting art, teaching workshops, hosting and designing events, creating impactful window displays, being a fellow shop owner and commiserater in this journey, teaching us through classes and mentorship, giving us feedback that fundamentally changed our approach. What a privilege, a chance of a lifetime, an honor. We are grateful for your stories and kind words that are helping us say goodbye with less bitterness and more sweet remembrances.
