Climb a mountain. Make a difference. Win some gear!
Join us in supporting Marie Zahn, an environmental researcher with the University of Washington, as she attempts to summit Mt. Rainier this June in collaboration with the American Lung Association.
Marie is a graduate student at the UW School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences currently studying Arctic marine mammal bioacoustics, where she is examining how scientists can use sound to study and monitor beluga and narwhal populations. This is especially important as the Arctic becomes more ice-free, where vessel traffic and underwater noise are expected to increase. https://www.mariezahn.com/about
In association with the ALA, Marie is involved with the Climb for Clean Air fundraising program. For every $5 donated to Marie’s fundraiser, you will be automatically entered into our raffle to win a High Coast Hydratic Jacket, a pair of Keb Trousers, and an Ulvo 23L backpack from Fjallraven! There is no limit on entries, so every $5 will grant you one additional spot in the raffle!
Additionally, every donor will receive an email for an exclusive in-store offer at the Seattle Fjällräven location.
Donations can be made in one of two following ways: 1) pay via Marie’s fundraising page: http://action.lung.org/goto/mariezahn
or 2) Venmo (make payment 'private' and include email in comments for in-store offer)
The raffle winner will be announced on April 30th!
Your tax-deductible donation funds lung disease medical research, lung health education and advocacy for clean air and healthy lungs. The American Lung Association is a charity built on trust and transparency, and is a proud holder of the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Guide Seal, a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, a Gold Star rating from GuideStar and membership in the National Health Council.
