Remember when I said I was doing something special with this past spring’s lilac harvest? Well, here it is—and we’re soooo excited to share it with you! Our Lilac & Lavender Cleansing Balm is everything. I started making cleansing balms when I ran out of mine and was looking for an all-natural makeup remover that was free of chemicals. I couldn’t find one, so I made one, and now everyone in my household is obsessed (including the teenagers)! This version is *extra special* and made with wild-foraged lilac blossoms and farm-grown organic lavender that was slow infused and transformed into the most magical balm ever! P.S. Happy September 1! To be honest, this has been a hard summer for me on so many levels. There are things I can’t share here and things I can, like battling pneumonia and then ending up in the hospital after a bee sting went sideways. 🤷🏼‍♀️🙈😳 But none of this malaise can touch the joy I feel for the bounty of the season. 🙌🏻 Here are a few pics from our little farm. This double-blossom rose from our summer garden might be the most beautiful thing we’ve grown all year. It’s lavender and perfect. P.S. My mom’s dad, William, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly when she was 16, long before I was born so I never got to meet him, but I know I would have loved him for so many reasons, including the fact that he loved purple roses. 💜

Our calendula salve is the IT skin-repair rescue for changing seasons (and an excellent gift for the gardening guru in your life!). We’re shipping out a case tomorrow to a customer who is gifting these beauties to friends embarking on a kayaking excursion! (Hi Julie!) Calendula is a super-botanical that protects and heals, and we use this powerhouse salve everywhere and on everything! 100-percent organic (so much so that you can eat it, and one of Sarah’s sons’ is guilty as charged!), we slather it on our lips, dry hands and cuticles, elbows, feet and everywhere in between. Sarah takes it on every airplane flight to combat dryness and always uses it after a long day in the garden. Our calendula is farm-grown and lovingly harvested from an organic garden. 🌼

It’s lilac season! Did you know that you can make the most luxurious and special tea from fresh or dried lilac flowers? (Thank you for this wonderfully whimsical, old-fashioned tip!). We’re obsessed with the scent of lilac and recently harvested an enormous batch to delicately dry to make skincare and tea products here at the farm! Stay tuned for all the lilac goodness coming to the shop later this spring/summer. P.S. The kitchen smells ah-maaaaazing! 💜

Guys, it’s here! Our newest product just launched in the shop, and our kids are 100-percent obsessed (in fact, we find them sneaking a pinch from the jar at our kitchen table on the daily!). Behold, our cold-smoked chili-blended Himalayan salt! This was a labor of love for us—carefully selecting a blend of chili peppers that weren’t too spicy and not too “meh” and then cold-smoking for hours to impart the perfect smoky-savory flavor with a nice little “kick”. We love it on just about everything—as a finishing salt for steak, chicken and fish, but also sprinkled on veggies or to give a pasta dish a little extra elevation (broccoli, asparagus, grilled red peppers and onions, too!). Just in time for summer grilling and BBQ season, we think you will fall in love with this one just as much as we have!
