Dallas Green, known to most as City and Colour, grew up with ‘Dirt’ by Alice in Chains as the first album he ever bought with his own money.
He wasn’t just a casual fan, Alice in Chains shaped his musical world from a young age.
Fast forward a couple of decades, and that same fan ended up opening for the band on their Rainier Fog tour in 2019.
But it didn’t stop there-during the shows, Dallas stepped onstage with them to perform Nutshell and Got Me Wrong, holding his own with a band he once worshipped from afar.
In Montreal, Jerry Cantrell even gifted him one of his guitars—a moment that said it all without a word.
From a kid playing their records to a peer sharing their stage, Dallas Green’s journey is proof that love for the music can take you places you never imagined.

On August 23, 1994, Jeff Buckley released Grace — his only studio album, and the one that would define his legacy. It sold poorly at first, peaking at just #149 in the US, but the acclaim came fast and never really stopped. Musicians like Brad Pitt, Chris Martin, Chris Cornell, Jimmy Page, Glen Hansard, Flea, Robert Plant, and others praised it in the years that followed, and it’s since gone on to influence generations of artists across genres.
This clip is a compilation of some of them saying so, in their own words.
Thirty-two years later, Grace still finds new listeners every day. 🖤

Happy birthday to Serj Tankian. Few tributes to Chris Cornell hit like watching him stand in for our friend on “Like a Stone” alongside Audioslave’s surviving members in Prophets of Rage — one legendary voice honoring another.

Today marks five years since the release of ‘Flag Day,’ one of my favorite movie soundtracks — featuring Eddie Vedder, Glen Hansard, Cat Power, and Olivia Vedder. Revisiting it now, Glen Hansard’s presence feels like the soul of the whole record. If you haven’t heard it, today is a beautiful day to listen.

On December 13, 1988, Mother Love Bone played „Crown of Thorns” live at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, opening for The Meat Puppets. The song wouldn’t be released for another year, arriving on their debut EP Shine in March 1989 — recorded that November at London Bridge Studios.
A glimpse of where it all started — and a reminder that we still remember about Andy. 🖤

Kim in Stretch. Chris in Face. Early 90s interview, Chris goofily explaining why Jason Everman isn’t playing bass with them anymore — very Soundgarden about it.
90 wasn’t inspired by this era. We were in it. 🖤
