Seeing the death toll numbers rise by thousands every day and all the videos coming out from the destruction caused by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria is beyond heartbreaking.

🎉 Here are the scent descriptions of all the candles that will be releasing soon!

Check out the bottom of each graphic to see the “scent strength scale.”

My favorite is definitely zarda followed by rose falooda. The zarda just has this strong flavorful fragrance that is comforting.

If you think about it - many of these food/drinks don’t have a distinct smell. I tried to smell a gulab jamun and a box of mithai but it’s very minimal. That’s why the intent of these candles is to mimic smells yes, but also the taste and what it FEELS like as you eat or drink it based on its ingredients.

I think I’ll do a live soon to talk more about these candles before they launch. Stay tuned ! 🙌🏼

🥥Part 1: After testing several different wax blends, I’ve settled on a coconut wax blend for my candles.

But first - have you signed up to the candle launch email list so you can get first dibs when the candles go live in 2 weeks inshallah? Get ready for some yummy nostalgic South Asian food and drink scents. Link in profile.

Ok back to waxes. Before explaining the benefit of coconut wax for candles, I wanted to touch on the type of candles you get from big box stores.

🕯Most of the candles you get that are in large retail are paraffin wax based. Paraffin is a by-product of fossil fuels, so it is non renewable. It’s one of the most cheapest waxes out there.

🪔Plus, paraffin can release chemicals that can cause irritability and sensitivity. I know my husband has skin allergies to these candles and my sister just told me that they now cause her headaches.

And let’s not forget, just because you get those huge three wick candles for a “decent,” price, doesn’t mean they last super long. Paraffin wax is a faster burning wax than soy or coconut PLUS, these shops over wick their candle so that they burn quicker and don’t last as long as they could. Why would they do that? The reason is simple - they want you to come back and buy more quicker.

On the other hand, coconut wax is from renewable resources, is clean burning (meaning much less soot possibility), non toxic, and slow burning.
