I just lost at yarn chicken but I’m calling it close enough on this little one skein sample crochet… fiber dyed by the amazing Carly from and turned into a virus shawl.

I can never say enough how much I appreciate everyone who stops by when I’m at an event. Shepherd’s Harvest was lovely - new friends, old friends, everyone sporting their new projects for an incredible walking fashion show of knits and wovens and crochet…

So thank you all and since this year we had a lot of questions about the name on the sign, Becka wrote up a fun blog post about Two Fish Fibers.

As a bonus treat if you click through and get to the pictures at the bottom, Jen and I were doing show and tell on our fleece purchases and we all started laughing. There’s zero chance we’ll confuse my fleeces with Jen’s backstage.

This weekend Two Fish Fibers was at the Shepherd's Harvest Festival at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo, MN. Shepherd's Harvest is Minnesota's big spring fiber festival. There are yarn and fiber vendors (like us), demonstrations of everything from weaving on a warp weighted loom to

It’s the best event of spring! I’ll be there with the amazing Becka Rahn: Fiber Art.

Rumor has it there’s a box of rocks packed in my truck already for some warp weighted loom fun. There’s a vending machine with micro crafts in it. There’s a neon goldfish sign. Let’s all find some yarn joy together.

I’m not actively selling or teaching in January, so there’s nothing for me to close today in solidarity. Just a note here.

Minnesota, I love you. The past weeks are full of rage and love and grief and hope as the people and places I love here step up to show courage and kindness to their neighbors. You’re incredible. Stay warm. Keep each other safe. To a day for truth and freedom.

If you’re helping supply a family who would like a little yarn or fiber to keep their hands busy at home right now, get in touch and I’ll pop something in the mail this week for you to bring them.

All the yarn I’ve dyeing and stashing for events got a nice little extra rinse before twisting and labeling to come along to this weekend.

How many hanks fit in an 85 gallon tub, do you think?

P. S. Don’t try this at home. I am a professional string wrangler and I don’t want you staring sadly at a tangled heap.

Yeehaw, yarn friends! I’m riding to the cities this weekend for a trunk show at the inimitable Saturday and Sunday.

This little cowtoad and steed sample are made up from some really lovely Leicester Longwool handspun with roving I’m bringing along for the spinners out there.

If you put your camping lantern in your clear gear tote, you have a very nice light table and can trace some weird little guys while your coffee brews.

It’s Shepherd’s Harvest weekend everybody!

Look for Two Fish Fibers at the back of barn C. We have prizes and Jen’s making custom batts to order once again has ensured we have more puns per square foot than anyone else.

When there is more ambition than time, sometimes you just put your favorite new ornament under the festive cactus and settle under a blanket with your nerdy new books and study Tudor clothing patterns.

The solstice has passed and the sun is coming back, the year’s longest night is behind us.
