Making some good progress on the ’56 F100 frame. It’s finally starting to look like something!

Lots of measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding to get everything positioned where it needs to be. Still plenty of fabrication ahead, but it’s nice seeing the pile of tubing slowly turn into a chassis.

A little shop upgrade before I get too deep into cutting tubing for the ’56 F100.

I already have the smaller version of this Evolution saw, and it’s been a great tool—but it’s also had a pretty rough life. It’s cut everything from steel to lumber for construction projects and just about anything else I could throw at it.

With a LOT of tubing to cut for the truck frame, I decided it was time to step up to the bigger R255SMS+. I want these cuts to be clean, consistent, and most importantly **square**. Starting with accurate cuts should make fitting and welding everything together a whole lot easier.

Probably not the most exciting part of the build, but good fabrication starts with good cuts. Time to start making some chips. 🔧🔥

The ’56 F100 is officially starting to get a backbone.

I’ve spent a lot of time planning, measuring, and figuring out how to package everything into this build. Now it’s finally time to start turning those plans into steel. Today I started cutting the tubing for the new frame.

The goal is to build a chassis around the 2018 Mustang GT components while keeping the proportions and character of the ’56 Ford. There’s going to be a lot of cutting, fitting, welding, and probably a few pieces headed for the scrap pile before it’s done—but this is the part I’ve been looking forward to.

Here is an update on the carbon fiber tailgate I’m working on. 😁

3D printed metal parts for the F100! They turned out great! Some parts are aluminum, others are 316 stainless.

Box will be all aluminum, fenders are carbon fiber, made using 3d printed molds, tailgate has a carbon fiber skin with an aluminum structure under it.... I'm not much for writing these posts, I need a marketing person in my life... I just wanna build something 😩
