SO WHAT IS A C.PED ANYWAY?
The term Board Certified Pedorthist (C. Ped) describes an individual who has completed a period of internship and training, fulfilled academic requirements, demonstrated professional competency in filling physician’s prescriptions and fulfills continuing education requirements.

A Board Certified Pedorthist is an individual who has studied foot anatomy and pathology, biomechanics, shoe construction and modification. A C. Ped. has also studied foot orthoses fabrication and materials, footwear fitting, and patient/practice management. Furthermore, a Board Certified Pedorthist must abide by BCP’s (Board for Certification in Pedorthics) Code of Ethics which outlines responsibilities to the patient, the physician, the public and the profession.
