This weekend is a weekend of discovery and forcing myself to just take the leap. We poured some clay in the mold halves....

This weekend is a weekend of discovery and forcing myself to just take the leap. We poured some clay in the mold halves. Didn't go as wanted but the halves allow me to easily and cheaply cut apart and see how I want to modify the real thing. Now I can sculpt the tv screen. Then we took at stab at the rotocasting. We had a failure with some leakage but it set fast enough there wasn't too much waste. Then the final part turned out pretty good. Next is to sculpt the rest.

5 hours later and we did something. Not sure what. Need to cut away all the clay, clean everything up and do the other s...

Slowly but surely prototyping has begun. Never used this clay or mold silicone rubber but you have to start somewhere. Managed to calculate the perfect amount of silicone too. Now we wait 4 hours to see the damage....

Shout out to all the automotive body work people, their job is no joke. Finally starting to get back to where I was after the failed gel coat so many moons ago. Probably going to need a bit of bondo to fill in some spots and a lot of sanding but hopefully I can start the mold process again soon.
