Custom Order Information
Thank you for your interest in a custom design!
Because every custom piece is personally designed and handmade by me, custom spots are very limited each year. At this time, custom orders are available only to customers who have previously purchased a ready-to-wear piece from my boutique listings. This helps ensure that you are familiar with my style, quality, and design process before investing in a fully custom creation.
Custom designs start at 250 (for full boutique sets which usually include three plus pieces from a complete look), rush fee will apply and be added for orders needed immediately. Otherwise, please allow approximately 6 weeks from the date of payment for completion. If you are requesting a design with trademarked or copyright characters it is substantially more.
When it comes to customs, I love hearing your ideas. You're welcome to share themes, colors, inspiration photos, silhouettes, and details you love. I will create sketches and discuss the design with you throughout the process.
That said, I am not a reproduction service or merely a seamstress. I am a designer.
When you commission a custom piece from me, you are trusting me to take your inspiration and turn it into an original design. While your ideas help guide the direction, the final design choices are ultimately mine. The reason for this is simple: you're hiring me for my creativity, style, and artistic vision.
I do not copy other designers' work, boutique designs, retail garments, costumes, or customer-provided pieces. I also do not create exact replicas of existing outfits.
If you would like something inspired by a character, movie, book, or theme, I am happy to create an original interpretation. I enjoy designing pieces that capture the feeling and magic of an inspiration without directly copying copyrighted artwork or another artist's work.
By placing a custom order, you understand and agree that:
• Designs are original creations and will not be exact copies of any photo, outfit, or design.
• Character-inspired pieces will be designed in my own artistic style.
• Final design decisions belong to the designer.
• Full payment is required before work begins.
• Custom orders are non-refundable once materials ordered design and production have started so if you have a deadline I need to be aware up front for a ship by date. If you are sending fabric, materials etc my timeline starts when all is in hand so keep that in mind.
When ordering from VINTAGE DUCK you are not simply purchasing an outfit. You are commissioning a wearable piece of art created especially for your child.
