Before you panic, let's talk about something that's surprisingly common during the summer: **metallic abrasion.**

If you've ever had a client notice a gray or dark mark on their skin, it isn't necessarily tarnish, and it doesn't automatically mean the jewelry is poor quality.

Metallic abrasion can happen when tiny metal particles interact with things like:

🧴 Lotion
💦 Sweat
💄 Makeup
🏖️ Sand
🏊 Pool chemicals

It is very common during the hot summer months!
The good news? It usually washes away easily with soap and water.

As artists, understanding the difference between tarnish and metallic abrasion helps us educate clients, set expectations, and build trust. Before automatically issuing a refund or a new chain, educate your customer on metallic abrasion and have them try cleaning the piece first!

I will be out for another day as I undergo surgery today, but the store will still be OPEN and Ava will be there to help you with all your shopping needs!

We got a huge shipment of squishes yesterday, and they’re ready for their new homes.

We had a HUGE squishy delivery yesterday, and they’re going to be flying off the shelves I just know it!!

Please note that there will be NO permanent jewelry services today, as I need to see the doctor for an infection in my leg. My daughter will be at the store and ready to help you find all your favorites while I’m away.
