Hello Friends,

Summer is bringing exciting changes to Mojo Quilts and More, and I wanted to share a few updates and upcoming events with you!

We’re making room for new inspiration in the shop, including plans for a beautiful new Batik Solid Collection coming soon. To prepare, we’re having a special fabric sale beginning June 1st!

These new Batik solids from Batik Textiles are so gorgeous, I'm going to buy all the colors!

Sew Your Own Pocket Alter!
Spend an afternoon with me and my

Hang out with me and my Tio Miguel and make this Pocket Alter Designed by Christi Johnson of Mystical Stitches.

My Tio Miguel wants to learn how to embroider, and what a better way to hang with some of my fiber artist friends while I teach about Mystical Stitches and making this unique Pocket Alter.

This is a special 1 day, 4 hour workshop, all supplies will be given. Just come and have fun!

Cost: $59 includes all fabric, thread, needles, beads, charms, Zine book, and pattern.
When: Sunday 7/5/2026.
Time: 12:00 PM TP 4:00 PM

Bring your own 6” embroidery hoop, or purchase in the shop day of the class.

Quilting 101: A Beginner Quilt Series $249.00 - Aug 26 - Sept 23

Weds Evenings 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Have you always wanted to learn how to quilt but weren't sure where to start?

Quilting 101 is a new beginner-friendly series designed to teach the fundamentals of quilting from start to finish. We will be making the Metro Quilt Pattern.

Over five weekly evening sessions, students will learn rotary cutting, fabric selection, accurate piecing, borders, quilting, and binding while creating a small quilt of their own. This class is perfect for brand-new quilters and confident beginners who want to build skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

The Intro to Upcycling: Transforming Textiles workshop on July 18 has officially SOLD OUT.

I'm incredibly grateful for the enthusiastic response to this new class and excited to spend a day exploring creativity, experimentation, and garment transformation with this wonderful group of makers.

One of my favorite things about upcycling is that no two projects are ever alike. People often begin with a garment and an idea, but not always a clear plan—and that's where the magic happens. Through stitching, layering, and exploration, something completely unexpected can emerge.

If you missed a spot in the Intro workshop, there are still a few openings available in the Wearable Art: Upcycled Textile Intensive taking place July 30–August 1.

Thank you for all the encouragement, support, and excitement around these new creative studio experiences. I can't wait to see what everyone creates.

One of the things I love most about upcycling is that no two projects ever look the same.

Some people are drawn to patched denim and visible mending. Others love layered textures, embellishment, or expressive wearable art pieces.

The goal of these upcoming workshops isn’t to make everyone create the same thing — it’s to explore process, experimentation, and personal style through textiles.

Mojo Quilts and more will be closing at 2pm on Friday May 15th to attend the Revelry Boutique Gallery Night Market Event!

All you night owls need to come out and listen to great music, support local artists and enjoy the weather!

I will be in the Artist Alley selling my hand embroidered quilts and wall hangings, I will also have a small selection of upcycled clothing.

Revelry is located on 742 E Market Street in the Nulu area of Louisville. If you've never been to this beautiful art gallery, you need to check it out. It's my favorite in the area.
