Sorry I've been among the missing.
After 24 days in the hospital, Hubster is in rehab. He went today. They were going to take him at 10, then 11, then noon, and so forth. He finally left the hospital at nearly 4. And I didn't know where he was going until the ambulance showed up to take him.
I am not impressed. The place is shabby. They try to make it homey with faux antique furniture, but even that is cheaply made. I bet I could break the headboard and footboard of his bed over my knee. I was not happy about leaving him there.
Tomorrow when I go, I am going to insist on seeing a doctor. He still needs medical care--oxygen, insulin, IV antibiotics, someone to come with a bedpan, and so on. The place was warm enough. And I found an extra blanket that I put at the foot of his bed so he could (maybe) reach it. But I am not happy.
He is still pretty much refusing food. He ate on Tuesday (New Year's Day), because they brought him pork, mashed potatoes with gravy, sauerkraut (which he didn't touch), and a salad. For dessert there was vanilla pudding. He ate all of that and half the potatoes, about a third of the salad, and maybe a quarter of the pork. This was pretty amazing, given that he's been refusing everything since he's been in the hospital. I'm hoping he'll eat in rehab.
Anyway, I need to find out what this place offers. I know absolutely nothing about the place. I'll have my work cut out for me tomorrow.
