Today is a very sentimental day for us.
Many of you know that beyond The Houndstooth, we also have a farm sanctuary. Five years ago today, we lost Grace — the goat who started the rescue side of our journey.
We traveled to some of the best hospitals and specialists searching for answers, but we never truly learned what was wrong. What we do know is that Grace faced every day with courage, gentleness, and a spirit that lifted everyone around her. She even smiled. And yes, goats really do smile.
Grace’s favorite place was up on the mountain, grazing in the grass for hours. On her hardest days, Chris would cut fresh grass and bring it home to brighten her day. After Grace passed, we relocated to her favorite place. That decision set in motion so many blessings, including discovering The Houndstooth.
Everything has a way of coming together.
The Houndstooth brings us so much joy. While some may not realize it, animals are at the heart of everything we do. Through the store, we’re able to support our sanctuary, help local shelters, and continue giving back to the animals who have given us so much.
This weekend — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — in honor of Grace, we will be offering 10% off all treats.
