Q: What does Sewing by Sara do? SE.

A: I have an alterations business. I can help make your clothes fit better, hem a dress, fix a zipper, shorten pants or jeans, alter wedding dresses and suits. Q: Where are you located? A: In Sioux Center at 947 8th Ave. This is a red house and the shop entrance is on the north side of the house. Q: Do I need an appointment? A: The shop is open for the public on Tuesdays & Fridays from 9:00am-

5:30pm. At this time the public can come and go when picking items up or bringing in new items. You can make an appointment, but it is only needed if you have something you need to be measured on you. You can drop in without an appointment on a first come, first serve basis. Q: How do I make an appointment? A: You can call in at 712-722-0141 and leave a message or talk to me on the day the shop is open. There is a blue "sign up" button on my page, you click and maneuver from there for the service time you need. I use the Square appointment system. Q: What if I don't need to be measured for anything and you are not open, I just need items fixed? A: That is what the DROPBOX is for. It is located outside the shop door and is accessible day or night. You can leave items in there with your name & phone number on the bag. I will text you when your items are fixed and you pay when you pick it up. Q: How do I know when my things are ready to pick up? A: I will send you a text message or call you if you prefer. Q: How do I pay for my items? What forms of payment do you accept? A: You can pay for your items when you pick them up. You can also pre-pay. Forms of payment are CASH, DEBIT CARD, CREDIT CARD, VENMO, and some local checks are accepted. Q: How long does it take to get my items back? A: I am the sole seamstress and I love my job. That being said, certain times of the year are busier then others. I also help the school with choir & show choir activities. I work items in the order as they come in, unless you have a deadline date. I work between the mending, bridal, zippers, and then repeat. Most of the time, turn around can be 2 weeks to 2 months. You can pay a RUSH FEE to speed up your items and have them done within the week of bringing them into the shop.

I’ve had several things dropped off in the Dropbox without names or phone numbers. I cannot fix these items if I’m not sure whose they are.
Even if you message me that you are dropping things off, PLEASE, PLEASE, put your contact information with them.
I get 10+ messages daily and I’m working on 40+ other people’s things brought in, and I’m not an elephant (memory isn’t the best, this time of year, especially). I hate to complain, but I need to send out a reminder 🙂
