Throughout history 1/2 has fought in every climb and place from 1933 to present day operations. Battles fought and won from the island hopping of Guadalcanal to Okinawa, desert storm and the Global War on Terror. Continuing the Victor unit collections, we add 1st battalion, 2nd Marines.

During the Global War on Terror (GWOT) Era, 1/1 deployed multiple times during Operation Iraqi Freedom, including participation in the Second Battle of Fallujah, a key operation to secure the city from insurgent control. 1/1 additionally played an essential role in counterinsurgency efforts during Operation Enduring Freedom.
