It's independence day. A day to be "happy " however, today I am grateful This week, I was able to give back, not only to our future leaders, but to the community as a WHOLE.

We are only in our first week but I must say, this group of Summer Youth Employee Participants (SYEP) are amazing. I look forward to our next 5 weeks and what WE can teach each other. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ok OK I'll shorten it 🥴

Last night......
I attended an event with the NYS Comptroller's office which was given by Dr. Danielle Jones. It was Soooooo good. Here's what happened in no particular order.

1. I met the owner of the AMAZING bookstore that I will be doing my 1st Book signing at.

2. I met the owner of Juicy Patties. I informed him that I am the flooring contractor for his newest location on White Plains Road in the Bronx.

3. I was pulled to the side and prophesied to. 😭🙌

4. I was blessed with 2 tickets to a play for tomorrow which to my understanding Alicia Keys is in it 🤗

5. I won a Raymore and Flannigan gift card. 😜

6. I met NYC Council member Rita Joseph from BK who informed us that there is a new order which will be passed which allows foster children to bring their belongings in 🧳 suitcases when they are being placed in homes. No more garbage bags 🙌💃

7. I met the team of Channel 7 news. Awwwww man, the tears 😢 that were in the room when they spoke.

8. I met the sisters who own several restaurants in NY, and in their speech they mentioned that they were NEVER honored before😭

All of this Amazingness in one good night, Can you imagine?

All because I made a conscious decision to let down my guard and take on a new friend. I had no idea that she would be someone to help me elevate to my next level.

My GOD is something else.🙏🏿
