Hello and welcome to my page. A little history to start us off:
In May of 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Scary, right? It’s not the kind of news any of us want to hear, not the kind of news any of us even thought we would hear. We can delve into that, and my journey as time goes by.
My main purpose in creating this page is to sell items (mostly purses) I crochet in order to raise funds for the center where I am receiving my treatment. Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center is attached to the Hunterdon Regional Hospital in Flemington, New Jersey. The hospital is a smaller regional facility with limited funding compared to the more modern, larger facilities throughout New Hersey and New York, but their costs are just the same as the larger facilities.
I have been fortunate to receive a wonderful doctor who is concerned for my overall welfare and well-being, who is attentive and caring. I want to give something back as a token of appreciation for all that they do, not just for me, but for all their patients. In the grand scheme of things, it isn’t much, but it’s more than they had and every little bit helps.
I will be creating reels with the STARS link activated both here and on my personal profile which raises one cent for each star earned. All of the funds raised via the reels will be donated to the Center.
I will also be crocheting and selling purses, shoulder bags, coin purses to raise funds. I do need to cover the costs of materials but that isn’t an awfully huge $$ amount. I can’t work, my husband had been out with a broken wrist and torn rotator cuff with no money coming in during all that time, otherwise I wouldn’t be so concerned about the costs to me.
For the longest time I have been battling pain which left me unable to even wash dishes, but now that seems to be under control, I am finally able to take up my hook and do something I enjoy.
My first creations are ready, with more in the works.
