Years ago, my mother created a dress for Dolly Parton. The dress was baby pink and encrusted with crystals. It was manufactured by a company that is no longer in business, Claires Collections. The past few days I’ve started to try to find a picture of the dress mama did for Dolly and today I finally found it. Dolly was known for her sparkly clothes and her giving heart. For our store in West Tennessee, it was a big deal to make a dress for Dolly. I will never forget how happy my mom was that she got the opportunity to do so. Long before there was social media just knowing that you helped the queen of Tennessee, made her proud. It still makes me proud. Now here we are 40 years later. Still making dresses. The truth is Dolly made the dress, the dress didn’t make Dolly. What an honor and a privilege.. there will never be another Dolly Parton. ❤️
