They always said, "That kind of stuff takes too much time and patience”. Which I did not really under
stand because to me the things that they were making took a long time to make. The first time I saw a crocheted blanket I fell in love. It was so beautiful and unique and I wanted to learn how to make something so precious. When I turned 13, I tried to teach myself how to crochet and my sister stepped in and showed me all the basic stitches I needed to get started. When I finished my first blanket, the feeling I felt was indescribable. Now compared to the one I saw before, it was no where near as good, but it was mine and that was an accomplishment in itself. I continued to practice for a few more years until I got good enough to compare to others I saw. When I felt like I mastered the basic stitches, I started on other projects. Before I knew it I went from only making blankets to making hats, scarves, gloves and bags just to name a few. I have now dedicated my spare time to crochet and every year I find that my work gets better. Still today I challenge myself to learn something new to make. Currently I am attending college working towards getting a degree in business. In my near future, I will have my own web store selling my products all over the world. Crochet is my passion and nothing will please me more than achieving my ultimate goal and getting paid to do what it is that I love to do.
