3rd Annual 49 NDN ART RALLY

Mvto to for hosting the Fundraiser Art Rally. Special mvto to Kristin Hoover Gentry for the invite. The hosts and planning team did a wonderful job with this event and bringing us all together to support a good cause.

This was my first year being an artist at the art rally as well as visiting Culture Hub Collective. I had a lot of fun, visiting with friends, meeting new people, and enjoying being surrounded by fellow art lovers. Mvto to .405 for showing me around the space, sharing the history of the building and the vision of the future being built by Culture Hub. For my art rally pieces, I intended to do some embroidery. Unfortunately, my sewing machine wasn't cooperating, so I ended up painting some Indian Paintbrushes on fabric. I'm pretty proud of how they came out and glad I was able to make two pieces. Both pieces were purchased by the same lady, which made me happy they are staying together.

Medallion for my nephew
This is my second Thunder Medallion. The first one was made about 10 years ago. I can tell a significant difference in my beading skills. This was made with 3 cuts. I didn't keep track of how long it took me since I made it for a family member. Let's say my snow days were productive! ⚡️

I think I need to make myself a Thunder Medallion ⛈️ next 😄

This was a gift purchased by Okcate's friend. He came into .tulsa and purchased my last clothing item in the store.

I love all the little details in the jacket and had a lot of fun playing with the stitching. See 2nd slide for upclose shots. Like I mentioned before, I made two jackets like this one was sold opening night of the 2025-2026 INDIGICHIC Pop-Up season. It has the same back, cuffs, and stitching pattern. The thread color and bottom design are similar but different. I don't normally make the same thing twice. The jackets are reclaimed from the same band but different sizes. This is why I made them with similar designs.

This style reflects my original designs in my "Heartbeats Collection" a few years. I recently came across a dear friend who owns one of the jackets from that collection, and she told me she gets a lot of compliments whenever she wears it, which made me very happy to hear.
I intended to share more photos but decided it was best to rest and rebalance while I was able to. I will still try to share photos when I can and look forward to all the opportunities and creativity that is to come in the new year. Mvto Fekseko

Honnv-hayv Semvnole pt 1

Before the year ends, I am going to attempt to share my art/projects/creations I have made this year.

This is the beginning of my first Semvnole Honnv (Dress) made by me, excluding dolls. One of my sisters reached out to me asking if I knew any dress makers. I gave her references of all the ones I knew and then she asked if I would make one. Many have asked if I make my own Semvnole Patchwork, and I have learned a few designs, but I had not made a full dress.

In May, her student reached out about having me make a dress for her. We decided on a skirt and two capes, one lace and one cotton both to match the skirt. Since she's fuswvlke and the meaning of her name, I decided to make her clan with a pretty glitter white and gold fabric that I had in my stockpile.

I spent 18+ hours learning fuswvlke, and my first attempt at the wings came out short. After some slight adjustments, I was able to get them to a reasonable size. This was the first pattern I taught myself in nearly two years. I was very pleased with the colors and shape along with the prospect of learning while challenging myself on my first Semvnole Dress.

In the store, I have a couple of ear cuffs, a Holattē Ribbon skirt size (small -4XL), not pictured, a Reclaimed Jacket adorned with Pendleton fabric (PC: ). I've had this jacket for a few years and decided it was time to find its new home. I actually made two of these that were similar with small differences. The "sister jacket" was made with orange stitching instead of red, and the design on the bottom was slightly different. The other actually sold opening night to one of the talented artists in the store.

Ehe (Yes) "That's from my blue period!"

Holattē Ribbon skirts available at noheartdesigns.com. All skirts have two pockets and adjustable waistbands.

I know Lilo says "No" but you can say yes to these skirts. If you have been following my artist style you know I don't create anything twice. I will make "collections" every once in a while, these are items that are similar but not the same. This comes from growing up within Semvnole culture, we are taught that no two dresses are ever the same or replicated, unless made for family members. The porcelain inspired skirts are made for family members who would like to match but each have their own personality (or not). They each have similar size ribbons and stitching but are not exact. My overlay lace skirts have black ribbons underneath and differing waistbands. I originally designed these with ribbons but decided to do without when I made them. I ended up changing the waistbands to elestic and added ribbons. These have been a favorite for a while because of how I ended the lace at the bottom. I like their uniqueness and the darker tones.
