This is our last week for the Cord/Art Caddy class! The kids have been doing an amazing job! Sewing that vinyl is not always easy!

Don’t forget to grab a spot for the June summer sewing camp! It will be either the third or fourth week of June, with two different time-slot options.

Happy Memorial Day! I will be holding class tonight at the regular time!

250 years!! I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing nation! Thank you to all who have given so much - even everything - to help create, and maintain this beautiful land of the free.

My grandfather fought in WWII. He didn’t often talk about his experiences but he did suffer from PTSD which us grandkids didn’t fully understand - we just thought it was funny when grandpa would suddenly wake from his nap calling out in fear or anger…or some other emotion. I realize now that he was reliving some of the most horrific experiences a human can live through. Thank you for everything grandpa!

It's already the middle of the month which means registration for next month opens tomorrow!

That's right! You can register for the June summer sewing camp tomorrow!

The summer camps will be three consecutive days, two hours each day. This year the kids will have a couple options for these camps:

1. The kids can choose to make the project of the month. For June the kids can choose between a Sleep Over Tote or a Tiered Maxi Skirt.

2. The kids can make one of our past projects from this last school year. I'll post a picture of all the projects we did. If your child chooses this option please let me know what project they are doing so I can make sure you (or I) get all the supplies. If there is a project that you do not see that your child is interested in doing please reach out to me.

3. Kids can bring in their own project. This can be a sewing project (please have it be within their skill level) or it can be something not related to sewing. If your child is working on a non-sewing project they will need the materials and the know-how to complete their project (for example, I do not know how to crochet or knit so I won't be any help to them!).

4. Kids can Free Sew. This means they can use my materials and Free Sew patterns to make mini projects or come up with their own projects.

The June sewing camps will be the third or the fourth week of June: June 22nd-24th or June 29th-July 1st. There will be a 10:30-12:30 session or a 1-3pm session on both weeks.

Space is limited so please grab a spot before they disappear.

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you all were able to honor the wonderful mothers in your life today!

I promised the kids I wouldn’t post any pictures completed projects until after Mother’s Day so that those who are keeping it a surprise won’t have that surprise spoiled. So instead, here are a few pictures of kids working hard!

Just a reminder that this week all classes are normal - meaning 1.5 hours long.

Next week classes will be two hours long. The May project is only three weeks which is why the classes will be 30 minutes longer.

Also, my website didn’t have the class links yesterday…a toggle got accidentally reset…so if you tried to register and didn’t see the classes then you should recheck today!

Monday’s after school class has 5 openings

Wednesday’s after school class is FULL
Wednesday’s home school class has three openings
Thursday’s home school class has one opening

What’s up this week?

#1 - cuddling with my kitties as I continue to recover from my broken ankle.

#2 - finishing up our Mother’s Day project!! Don’t forget that some kiddos may need a few extra minutes to finish! And some kids will finish with time to spare. If kids are keeping their gift a secret then they may want to bring a Kroger bag or something to put it in.

#3 - Register for the May project if you haven’t already done so. If you already have and are planning on providing the materials don’t forget to purchase them! I’ll post the materials below.

*Quilter’s cotton would be best for this project. Please avoid anything stretchy, velvety, thick or sheer. Some light upholstery fabrics can be used.

Hello my sewing friends! I wanted to thank those of you who have reached out to give me love, support and prayers for my swift recovery! I’m hoping for that as well!

Here are some pictures I took from my Saturday Intro to Sewing class! They are a fun group of girls and their bookmarks came out so cute!!

I’ve changed the May schedule officially on my website. We start the May project on the second week and each class will be extended 30 minutes.

If you haven’t signed up for May yet it’s not too late - in fact you have an extra week! But please do sign up soon so that I can get an idea of class sizes.
