***Before you read this, if you are already on my list for a quilt, you are still getting a quilt made! I am working hard to fill all these orders 🙏💛✨***

I have some HUGE NEWS❣️I have been busy quilting on my existing wait list & building a new business. So although forever my spirit animal, there will no longer be an Albino Squirrel business. Im working on a new page with my new business name, and I’ll it post on here so you know where to find me!

I will still be making quilts but I will only be making XL throw or throw sized memory blankets— by that I mean for those loved ones that have passed away. This is why I started my business and I so strongly want to wrap those that are grieving in some comfort and love— I have been there, I am STILL there, and I believe it helps.

💛✨💛✨The purpose of my business is STILL to bring some light and peace to this world we live in.💛✨💛✨

I will also be making so many other AWESOME and super exciting things! You’ll have to wait and see! I’m gonna be on the road @ craft shows, art fairs, festivals…And this is scary but, a YouTube channel as well 😳😳🤯 how do you even do that? How does that work 🧐🥸⚙️ call in the teenager for that one! So hop on the train friends, this is gonna be fun!

Let me tell you a little bit about this backing….I am IN LOVE with the fabric on the back of this quilt! I have tried to talk several clients into using this fabric for backing (when appropriate). However, everyone is entitled to their own personal taste and style. I honestly gave up on recommending it. Since I am good friends with this client, we went to the store together to look at fabric for the back— and we found some FUN stuff.

I about yelled when she pulled this off the shelves and said, “ohhh! What about this?” I said, “stop it right now!!!” I don’t think I have ever been happier with someone’s fabric choice 😂 THIS is how we pair together some awesome fabrics people 😍🤩🫨

Finished 2 quilts for two AWESOME people! Here is quilt #1 — another STL Cardinal quilt! Speaking of sports ball, I’ve gotten quite a few Cardinal orders and not a single cubby order. 🤔 Isn’t that rivalry still a thing here in Springfield? 😂🤣🤷‍♀️🫣 Don’t attack—the only thing I know about baseball is that their are bases, a ball, and a bat! 🤦‍♀️

To make things clear: I did NOT do the quilt top. A client brought this to me explaining that her Mother had already hand embroidered these absolutely stunning squares and pieced them all together. I merely had the honor of finishing the quilt by putting the batting and backing together and topstitching the quilt (fun stitched design on the top).

I absolutely love being able to work on projects like these. Thank you to everyone who continues to trust me with your families amazing work! 🫶💛💫

Where have I been?! My squirrel brain had me a little lost and I am JUST NOW realizing I haven’t posted anything in almost a year!!! 😳🫣😵‍💫

I had some life events (I had to retire my sewing machine and make friends with a new one 😭😭😭) followed by some health issues—but in between all that I did manage to finish some quilts. Made this sweet little quilt for a very sweet little girl!!! It is made out of her baby onesies and toddler clothes. There is minimal custom fabric in the quilt (tiny squares), which she helped me pick out herself. I hope it is something she is able to cherish for a lifetime 💝

Part 2: I had another blanket to make for this particular family. A dear friend of mine had picked out the exact shirts he wanted of his fathers to be in his quilt. The only problem— I didn’t even have enough tshirt to make him a throw blanket. I still had plenty of other shirts, button-ups, and pants that could be incorporated though. Knowing he & his dad are huge Grateful Dead fans, I decided to take pieces of his dads clothes and quilt together a Grateful Dead bolt to be the centerpiece. I’m beyond happy with the result! This vision turned out more amazing than I had dreamed and I know he will cherish it always. 💛⚡️ Bonus: this quilt has some sweet Bertha fabric as a backing 🤩
