The dress code was “Garden Chic with a Sparkle of Solar” because the host founded a famous solar company.

I dug through my closet, found this vintage sequin dress, and genuinely thought I had nailed it.

Then I arrived. The women were understated but thoughtful. Some of the wealthiest men I know showed up in basketball shorts—not even clean ones.

And there I was, sparkling like the future of renewable energy 😅🙏🙃
