Reminder: Keep your eyes safe! Avoid wearing your contact lenses while swimming, showering, or sleeping. Water and lenses don't mix — they can increase the risk of infection and discomfort. Always follow proper care guidelines to keep your eyes happy and healthy!
-Water can be a major source of contact lens contamination - especially from the parasite acanthamoeba, leading to a nasty and sight threatening infection.
-Swimming and contact lenses are not a good mix. Swimming pool water contains a mix of chemicals and microbes that can harm the eye. Allowing a contact lens to hold this water in place can lead to irritation and infection of the eyes.
-Sleeping in contact lenses reduces the amount of oxygen reaching the front of the eye, leading to reduction in corneal health and allowing for contact lens complications.
