in 1972 i was 15 when my dad was transferred from st.louis to titusville for his job with mcdonnell douglas so that he could do his part on the skylab before it was launched in 1973. he loaded up my mom and us 6 kids ( with one additional conceived that year ; ) and we made the drive to our new temporary home, started a new school, a new adventure. the day came for the launch and i remember standing in a parking lot along the indian river along with hundreds of others seeing and feeling that experience of a lifetime. a month or so later we were headed back to st.louis with a collective pride and honor that we got to be apart of that! tom and i visited the yesterday and were blown away by the whole place and the memories that rushed in. and i am so grateful that my dad is who he is♥️ #1973
