As America celebrates 250 years, I wanted to share something that feels especially fitting for the occasion.

This new Dark Cherry Alligator-Embossed Belt starts with Hermann Oak latigo leather, tanned here in St. Louis, Missouri. I cut, shape, burnish, wax, and finish every belt by hand in my own St. Louis workshop.

The deep red and brown color has a lot of natural variation, and the alligator pattern gives the leather a completely different look from anything else I have made. It is still full-grain American steerhide, just embossed with a deeply set pattern. The 1.25-inch version would look especially sharp with golf shorts or trousers, adding a polished and distinctive finish to any golf outfit.

From the tannery to the finished belt, this one stays close to home.

I had the pleasure of touring the Hermann Oak tannery last week. Lots of cool Saint Louis history in that building!!

Expect more Hermann Oak leather types to show up in my handmade belt options on the website.

I have stocked most colors of this wonderfully smooth English Bridle leather! Thick leather, the smoothest finish on a top grain you can get, and a rich dye color. A great custom piece to add American heritage to your wardrobe.

Just finished this Emerald Green belt for a customer and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

It’s English Bridle leather, so it’s got a smooth feel but still holds up to everyday wear. The color has a lot of depth and looks even better once you’ve got it on. A little bit late for Saint Patrick's day, but I'm sure someone has a wardrobe needing a green accent.

Huckleberry leather from Hermann Oak, very limited production run.

This Hermann Oak purple belt is an extremely limited run. The tannery produced this leather in very small quantities, and this is the only piece I was able to purchase. There are only about a dozen belts available from this run. Once they’re gone, there won’t be more.

I’m cutting these from thick, full-grain Hermann Oak leather, giving you a belt with real structure and presence in a color that almost never shows up at this weight!

I can also make a matching keychain from the same leather if you want a full matching set.
