Yesterday a huge tornado ripped through St Louis and destroyed much of the black community on the north side. Tomorrow the is hosting a big volunteer meeting and action to bring POWER back to north St Louis! We need lots of hands and also resources. Upcoming Events: Join us this weekend at Earth Fest in Forest Park! Our main campaign is “Colonialism Caused Climate Change” and we have lots of new apparel with this slogan, as well as many more anti-colonial, revolutionary messages.

On Saturday May 10, 2pm CT join us for an open meeting to learn how you can be involved in building this exciting institution of Black Star Industries! We are an all-volunteer run shop and there are many roles that you can participate in that we need filled. Such as: artists, graphic designers, fulfillment, photographers, models, videographers, marketing, social media promotions and more.

We are currently seeking new designs for the classic slogan, “Uhuru Means Freedom”. This is an exiting opportunity to contribute your art skills to the African Liberation Movement! The winning design will be featured as a new product in our shop, and will contribute to the liberated, African working-class led economy that Black Star Industries is building all over the world to continue the legacy of Marcus Garvey and put power back in the hands of the African working-class.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: FRIDAY, MAY 23, 11:59pm EST

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:
* Can be color or black/white
* It should have an African theme with an interesting font
* Inspiration such as: traditional mud-cloth or batik patterns, African art, revolutionary & anti-colonial history, the Red-Black-Green Garvey flag, and the bold messaging and images that the Uhuru Movement is known for
* Eye-catching, yet easy to read
* Open to artists of all backgrounds, ages and locations internationally

Join our next Art For Reparations Volunteer night, tomorrow Friday Feb. 28 from 6-8pm as we reset our production studio after weeks of construction that has been happening at the Uhuru Solidarity Center! See the 2nd photo for the 8’ trench in our garage where new pipes have been installed 👀

We need extra hands to help us dust off our equipment so we can get back to printing t-shirts! We have a stack of shirts lined to to be printed tomorrow to have available at the National Convention, March 15-16 in St Louis.
