Fernware in a 19th century Scottish technique where a craftsperson laid actual pressed fern fronds onto a light colored sycamore wood. They then sprayed or stenciled dark brown or reddish brown pigment over the wood leaving a clean silhouette of the fern when the leaves were removed. This souvenir box is a rare survivor of the process. It was just added to our online shop. Link in bio.
