quick announcement - effective April 1st, the MAKER. website will be powered down, marking the end of this era (or let’s call it chapter - era sounds kinda corny).
what started as this simple idea of being able to tell stories through fashion (& art on a broader scale) turned into a passion that I couldn’t escape. it’s been a somewhat scary road too - I got into this not mnowing a damn thing about the process of making clothes or the business behind it. By nature I’ve made plenty mistakes & miscalculations, but those have always been interpreted as lessons, not losses, on this end. Cause in the end, this is the s**t that I love to do! So I take the good with the bad - I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else anyways.
fast forward 3 years & I still don’t know everything lmao - & I’m still making mistakes naturally - but taking that leap into this has allowed me to cross roads with some incredible people in this space & allowed me to really see & understand what it is I want to address with MAKER as I continue to build.
In 3 years I’ve processed over 400 orders across 100+ customers. Sent packages to over 15 states. Sent packages to 2 different continents outside North America. You can act bougie and say that’s not a lot, but to me, that’s an accomplishment in itself. & while I’m closing the book on this chapter, it’s support like that that keeps the battery in my back energized for what I’m about to do next. I’m truly grateful for the insurmountable amount of support I’ve gotten from family, friends, & people who just wanna see me shine. It’s amazing. It’s eye-opening.
I’ve locked in even harder on this “pause”, & when the return happens I promise MAKER - in all facets - will be tremendously improved & focused.
