Chapter 2: Metal Sandwiches & The Kitchen Studio
When stepped into welding, she was met with dismissive voices: Women donât belong in the trades. You belong in the kitchen, making sandwiches.
So she really built a sandwich â out of steel. And named her welding shop "The Kitchen".
Inside this kitchen, her âingredientsâ are steel and sparks. Her âcooking toolsâ are torches and weld beads.
That metalâmade sandwich is more than art. It is her sharp, quiet reply to every outdated stereotype trying to box women out of industrial work. They told her where a woman should be. Sarah redefined what that space could create.
Trades do not belong to one gender. Skill does.
Clad in her BOCOMAL FR workwear, Sarah holds her ground in this selfâmade kitchen, rewriting what it means to be a female welder.
To every woman pushing past bias in maleâdominated fields: this space is yours to reâimagine.
This is Part 2 of her story. Part 3 dropping soon.
