if you told us a year ago that Disco Dolphin would be in the running for Best of Iredell, we would have been like..

WHAAAAAAAT?!🥹

it’s crazy how things can change so much in just 12 months by believing in your crazy ideas + acting upon them!

one year ago, having this lil storefront was just a dream, a goal & an idea.. something we never really thought we actually could bring to a physical existence anytime soon, but just *wanted to see* 😆
fast forward to present time, we are officially in the running for Best of Iredell!?

is this a lil disco dream i’m dreaming?! 🤯🪩

being nominated after just one year in business is something we don’t take for granted!✨ with us still being relatively new, the recognition that would come with winning can make a huge difference for our small biz by helping more people discover our cool store!

i know you’ve probably seen me mention voting a lot lately & we probably sound like a broken record at this point LOL (sorry 😅) but every vote counts & the support truly means the world to us!

here’s a visual timeline of me thinking “this is it!” for our logo, over & over again! 🙃 after a million different versions, countless breakdowns + identity crises, i now have a new found respect for the work of actual graphic designers! 😂 shoutout to the husband for riding that roller coaster with me!💕 i promise i won’t change it anymore!

got some great news over the weekend while on vacation!💕
we learned that our shop was officially nominated & now in the running for THREE different categories with the Statesville Record & Landmark “Best of Iredell” contest!✨

voting begins june 10th & we will be posting how to go about doing that, closer to that time! until then… just WOW!🤯
even if we don’t win, just being in the nominations is super cool considering we have only had our store for a year!🥹🫶🏻

personal page saw it first, but finally i’m announcing it here too!

i am speechless 😶 as i pick my jaw up off the floor, i can’t help but to feel immense gratitude + validation of what i’m building in this community! i am SO DAMN PROUD of myself for giving this program all that i had while REALLY going outside my comfort zone! this year i made it a point to do things that made me uncomfortable to help me grow & saw the small business center, power up Iredell program as the perfect opportunity to do just that! the last 6 weeks i been attending class at the college to refresh my knowledge as well as prepare myself for the presentation i had to pitch to a panel of judges a few weeks ago! well, i am excited to announce ya girl was a winner of the 5k prize! 😭💜

& now we will happily be obtaining a pink van in the near future!💕 insane what believing in yourself a lil can do!✨

it’s been a little over a month since we launched our experimental trinket box & so far the town has shown nothing but love to it!💕 we just wanted to say thank you so much to those who participate, respect the box + the rules, fill it up with goodies & overall help keep downtown a cool space for all!✨

if you haven’t visited yet, add this lil box to your list of places to visit in downtown statesville! it is located at 111 S Center St, right across from our storefront! 😊 the rules are simple: if you take a trinket, leave a trinket! & don’t leave anything you wouldn’t be excited to take yourself! examples of what to leave & what not to leave can be found on the sign inside!💕
