The Boutique is now empty.
“If these walls could talk”

They would reply,
it was filled with lovely memories,
lots & lots of laughter and
the most amazing friends that
walked through the front door.

Thank You to all for the support over the last 17 years.
We have had an incredible journey and an honor to assist you all.

As I was packing up the last couple days I realized there was not one purse left in the boutique.
I thought to myself I wonder how many handbags we sold in these 17 years? 🤭

I am one lucky lady! I have had an absolutely amazing month long retirement party.
My day started with a surprise visit from Jake at State Farm❤️
Next Joan, Barb & Quan arrived!
Lots of Laughter Fun and Blessings arrived with these 3 ladies❤️❤️❤️
(Check out their arm load of purses)
Then, I received a phone call from Mr. Retiree’ asking me not to check any emails today. Of course, I asked “Why”?
He said, “Everything is alright and that I would find out tonight”
Doug asked me again, not to look.
I agreed!!
Thank Goodness I was so busy I didn’t have time to peek, even if I wanted to.🤭
As the day went on more & more friends, classmates, neighbors, past preschool students/parents & shoppers stopped by with flowers, gifts, cards & well wishes.
I told Doug tonight I wished I would have had a registry book for this month long retirement party!❤️❤️❤️
Now, Just so you all know, I did not peek at our emails at all like Doug asked.
So, when I came home tonight I was greeted by Mr. Retiree’ with a big smile on his face.
Next to him was a gift box the size all us girls recognize. I opened it up to find a beautiful gold butterfly necklace. Well the tears started rolling down my cheeks as I realized “OUR FLIGHT” into retirement had begun. We have “FLOWN” together over 4 decades of being Small Business Owners and I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone other than my Husband, Doug!
I’m blessed to have an amazing man that has always stood by my side.
(Trust me, he does have his hands full being married to this Italian girl🤭)

Today is the Day!
This will be my last day operating as a Small Business Owner here in the Sauk Valley Area.
I come from a long line of Small Business Owners in my family.
My Grandfather, Barno Poci, Operated Sterling Produce until the late 1950’s
My Father, Guido Poci, Operated his farm & Poci’s Realty until 1990.
I knew at a young age I wanted to own my own business. But, little did I realize I would end up operating two Small Businesses from 1984-2024
(a preschool & a boutique) and how many amazing people I would meet along the way. ❤️❤️
I would like to Thank Everyone that has supported us over the years, I appreciate you all so much!
At this time I like to Thank Mr. Retiree’ for “always” being there by my side.
He has “always” supported me in my dreams and he has “always” been there to help our businesses be successful❤️
Also, Many Thanks to Ricci Endrea Amerie & Riley for supporting
Us along this journey.

Going through more memories from The Beautiful You Boutique
Our Granddaughter Amerie grew up helping us 🤭 at the boutique, from modeling wigs & merchandise, to designing jewelry, helping unpack & price merchandise, making sales 🤭building wall displays and designing many many cardboard race cars & spaceships!
(Actually this Grandma was babysitting but Amerie always thought she was working!🤭)
As I’ve been sorting through display cases I’m finding cute little pictures Amerie drew for me. I’ll treasure these forever, Love❤️You “A”

Oh What a day!!!
All month long I have been receiving so many beautiful gifts, flowers, cards, cookies, gift cards, hugs, well wishes,and tons of wonderful memories from so many of You on my retirement.
There were several times many of You almost made me cry, but I was able to keep my composure until today.
I wasn’t open too long when
Yvonne, Jan, Mary Sue, Patty & Melinda all arrived around the same time bearing lovely gifts.
I received a vase full of beautiful flowers and a gift card for
Mr. Retiree’ & Me to have a celebration dinner.
Then, I opened Melinda’s gift and there was a fun sash that said
“I’m retired” and a gorgeous really lovely rhinestone crown, which was absolutely beautiful!!!
I’ve never had a crown❤️❤️
and it was just such a great surprise!
Next, I opened her second gift which was a lovely wind chime with a butterfly to represent a beautiful angel named Amanda, who passed away over 34 years ago in February. Little Amanda attended my preschool back in the 80’s. She would have been 44 in July this year.
Her favorite song at preschool was “You are My Sunshine” and I think of her all the time. We seem to have had a special bond, I think because we shared the same name.
Well, once Melinda said the butterfly was for Amanda, that was it, the tears flowed. I could not compose myself this time. Thank You so much Melinda! I love windchimes and this one will forever be my favorite!❤️❤️

After a few pictures in walked Kathy to pick up the display floor mirror. I almost lost it again❤️❤️

I only have 3 days left till my retirement closing date and I have a feeling my emotions are going to get the best of me!
