Blackbird was never supposed to thrive this long. My goal was to get my babies into full time school and then I’d be back to working in a field that matched my education. Purely because of my amazing clientele and our community, this season of my life lasted longer than I could have hoped for and it has been everything to me. This store survived 2 babies, health stressors, a pandemic, loss & tears, growing pains, achievements and successes. This store held my identity when I felt like I lost it and it gave me a reason to get up everyday, even when the alternative felt safer. I am so proud of the last 10 years but I know in my heart, I have outgrown this venture at this stage of my life. I will miss what became my families second home and our safe haven but I have had an ache to help people the last few years and I know I won’t be able to explore what that looks like if I stay in what’s comfortable. I walked into this business with a baby on my hip and a family that supported me fiercely. At the end of September I’ll close the doors one last time with the same excitement and encouragement from the people I love, many of whom I’ve met because of Blackbird. Thank you for the last 10 years. The memories will always be the sweetest chapter of my life allowing me to raise my babies, love my business and meet so many amazing people. && who knows, maybe later down the road I’ll be back in business 🐦‍⬛ stay tuned as we announce a farewell party prior to our last days, I hope to see you all along the way!
