Sans Technical Fibers SANS Fibers is a state of the art manufacturing facility in Stoneville, NC. We produce specialty nylon 6.6 and PET technical yarns for the world.

SANS has been the leading supplier of High Tenacity LDI Nylon 66 for over two decades producing a full range of products from 70 to 840 denier with tenacities ranging between 7.5 and 9.5 GPD and final elongations between 18 and 22%, all while achieving low shrinkage between 3 and 6%. These N66 yarns are made with UV stabilized, bright polymer and exhibit superior whiteness and ease of dyeing chara

cteristics. While targeting all forms of sewing threads, SANS specialty yarns are also found in a wide range of applications such as broadloom weaving, narrow fabrics and tapes, embroidery, banners, flags, braided cords, shoes and other technical textiles to include manufactured rubber goods, medical, military and automotive products.

The Mechanic is responsible for mechanical work performed on the equipment along with any other mechanical work that is necessary to keep the plant operational. This includes preventative maintenance, breakdowns, teardowns, positional problems, and troubleshooting.

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineering Manager who is electrically and mechanically inclined with proven supervisory experience and exceptional people skills. The ideal candidate will also have a lean manufacturing approach. This position will report to the Operations Manager and will supervise a staff of electricians, facilities maintenance and machine mechanics.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

Promote corporate objectives.

Maintain plant machinery.

Manage capital and expense projects for the manufacturing site.

Supervise plant maintenance personnel: set priorities, set responsibilities, determine training requirements, and determine tool requirements.

Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards for machinery.

Determine spare parts requirements.

Determine periodic and preventative maintenance schedules and maintain the PM software system.

Schedule, troubleshoot and supervise repairs of demand maintenance (breakdowns).

Enforce compliance with safety rules and standards. Promote safe work practices.
Supervise hourly employees, contractors, and vendors providing equipment and services for maintenance of plant machinery and security.

Compliance with wastewater discharge permit.

Compliance with Dept. of Labor pressure vessel maintenance and inspection requirements.

Compliance with plant Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan and Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan. (Responsible for hazard chemical spill cleanups.)

Responsible for developing and updating critical instrument list for ISO calibration and ensuring equipment is calibrated per ProGage software schedule.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Education Requirements: Minimum: BS in Engineering

Experience: 15+ years of Engineering experience. Textile experience preferred.

Specialized / Training: Trained on programming and troubleshooting process control equipment including PLC’s, SCADA applications and inverters. Trained and/or experience with maintain and troubleshooting computers and computer networks.
