Everyone; more importantly than taking a listen, take a minute, you owe it to yourself (trust me, it will be worth it). Comprehend what's being said about what's being fed to us all (whether close in my age or not, we are all apart of the system). Maybe its just my interpretation, but seriously Tom Parkes...lovin the sound, and philosophy, keep sharing!
soon enough, i’ll be a slave to the bank
and for what? pricey books and mistakes
took edible trips inside of myself
learned more than they could ever sell if they tried
but that was the price
for my bachelors in life
get a job, find a girl, have some kids
do the 9-5 while feeling barely alive
cause that’s our fathers did
i’m going deaf as they silently scream
“f**k all those idealistic dreams"
it’s a trap, and i'm not getting trapped
i just can't get trapped
don't let me get trapped
they'll keep washing your brain
til your bleeding out green
and selling yourself
for a useless degree
cause everyone said there’s no other way
but to move in a line as a pawn in this game
memorize words then you’ll get your discharge
not a thing i can’t learn with a library card
i’ll be writing these checks
til my hair’s turning grey
they’ll be asking for more
the moment that i walk away
here it comes, all my friends move away
full time job where the people they just don’t relate
so much more i know i can be
but a machine stole both my legs from me
it’s not right
but that was the price
for my bachelors in life
