Continuing down memory lane… next stop is pop up shops. The initial growth of Okai Fabrics came from pop up shops. When I first started Okai Fabrics, I had a Nissan Versa hatchback. Baby, you couldn’t tell me it wasn’t a Cadillac Escalade because I would pack that car to CAPACITY and head to wherever I needed to be. Pop up shops are a true labor of love filled with many uncertainties but I’m the mother of preparation so I’ve never run into an issue that I wasn’t prepared for. Speaking of labor, the only time I was ever concerned was my last pop up shop before having Skye. (It was 2 weeks prior to delivery). I started having Braxton Hicks and I said “Lord don’t let me go in labor while I’m working.” He was gracious. 😂😂

My favorite memory was when I did a pop up in Charlotte and one of my supporters literally screamed and was like “YOU’RE HERREEEE!!” She said that the same way I was absolutely excited about meeting
is the same way she felt about meeting me. Mannnnn that was loooooove 😭😭😭. You know how they say that your biggest supporters are strangers. They aren’t lying but I’m so glad that my supporters have become my friends. Thank y’all.

As the last days of Okai Fabrics draw near, I’ve been going through old pics and reminiscing on some parts of my journey building this brand. Mannnn there has been so much growth in these 8 years:
1. Confidence- I HAAAATED being the face of Okai Fabrics. It was never in my plan to be. I just had to make the economical decision to reduce expenditures in order to grow. What was once terrifying became the norm after I stepped out my comfort zone.
2. Makeup application- I didn’t have the first idea of how to do my makeup and I used to ask my friend for makeup tips allll the time. (Thank you for your support.) Then I would stay up all times of night watching YouTube videos and practicing. Even after losing central vision, I didn’t let that stop me. God told me that He had equipped me for the journey and I just had to trust that He meant exactly what He said. After a while, I got the hang of it. Turns out, what I needed was already inside me, I just had to work it.
3. Photographs- Although I started out with professional photographers, eventually I had to DIY my photos. Taking product photos regularly got very expensive very quickly but I needed pictures so I bought a ring light and a tripod and made it do what it do. You would never know that I took my own photos with a iPhone, tripod, ring light and Bluetooth remote. Use what you have TODAY; you don’t need all the fancy gadgets to start.

Can we talk about duality?!

How two things can exist at the same time?
For me, it is my polar opposite emotions. On one hand, I am relieved to officially close down Okai Fabrics and I’m also grieving that I never saw what I imagined to be the fullness of all the hard work and sacrifice that was required. I don’t quite understand all the reasons for the shift but I do know this season is over. I am still very much excited about what’s to come for House of Okai despite me not knowing the entire pathway and I’m also nerv-cited about what’s going to be required of me for this level of ministry. Regardless, I’m moving forward.

Thank you for all of your support! From the depths of my soul, I appreciate each and every one of you. May you receive a ten fold harvest for every for of support you’ve sown.

I know I’m closing but we are still friends so I want to share a life lesson with y’all.

“You only get one set of feet, be good to them”

As I approach 40, this phrase has moved from the back of my mind to the front. My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary over the weekend and while I did have outfits lined up that required heels, Bae bought me some 1s and I’d like to think that I put together my looks nicely while still serving comfy s*xy. What do you think?

Real life POV of being on my weight loss journey:

Backstory:
Tomorrow is my 10th year wedding anniversary and so I wanted a cake to celebrate. I wasn’t going to bake it because having a whole cake in the house is too much temptation. I found a baker (shout out to those of you who suggested Pownd Cakes by Jen. They offer over 30+ flavors. When I went inside, I was hype to learn they let you sample cake flavors. I chose the 3 flavors for home and then got 1 flavor for myself that I’m sure only I would like (carrot cake). The cashier said “you’re at 4 mini cakes. If you buy another, you’ll get 1 free”. As someone who loves a bargain, this sounded like a good deal but instead I said,

“No thank you. I’ll just go with the ones I have. I began processing my thoughts aloud. “I don’t need that much cake in the house. You guys aren’t going out of business so I can always come back to try other flavors at another time”

I asked her if she could gift wrap the other 3 mini cakes because I knew that once they were packaged, I definitely wasn’t going to bother with them. One of the ladies was impressed by my discipline and having such a practical conversation with myself. Meanwhile, I’m just grateful for change, no matter how small.

As I type this, I want to open the almond flavor cake so bad but instead I’m going to eat this yogurt and enjoy the game because it’s more to life than food.

No matter where you are in your journey, if you are taking steps to become a healthier you, I’m proud of you!!! ❤️

If you’re over 30 and have a sedentary job, you definitely need to be stretching. Sitting down for an extended period of time puts a lot of pressure on your v***a which can cause sensory challenges to your genitalia.

So it’s not that you’ve fallen out of love with that man because he doesn’t make you feel like he used to, you just need to stretch that pressure out.

I told you I would be back to tell you one of the best ways to stretch.

1. Wear something that makes you feel s*xy.
2. Grab some Bluetooth earbuds and give your husband one and you take the other. Play y’all playlist.
3. Sit in front of your body length mirror and start stretching

Not only will this loosen you up to arrive to your maximum potential, it can serve as a form of four play. You watch him in the mirror watching you.

God is so amazing and so intentional and never wastes ANYTHING! My first legitimate business was with a MLM company where I had intimate parties and sold s*x toys. It was during this business that I learned that women have 9,000 nerve endings connected to their ummm “door knob”. This rebrand incorporates a portion where I will use that same information to talk with my tribe. I can’t wait to share!

While we wait, here’s a bonus tip: Married ladies over 30, if you aren’t stretching regularly, you are probably not reaching your full “potential”
