I customized this 22 year old shirt which he got in Beijing. He never wore it due to a bad fit. I removed the collar, making it look more like a Mandarin collar. I meticulously cut out the Hard Rock Cafe circle from the denim shirt, then filled the hole and repositioned the patch & pocket onto the striped fabric. The shirt was baggy and he wanted it more fitted so I added darts. I shortened the shirt and lengthened the sleeves using the center placket of the striped shirt and put its pocket on the other side. Last but not least, I created an appliqué of The Forbidden City building (a modest version) for the back yoke.
He loves it!

Just sent out this custom sized hat to Sarah in Virginia which she plans to take on her cruise. It’s reversible, packable and can be tied under her chin on the windy seas. Hats off to Sarah! …but hopefully not HER hat! 🫢👒

A Thank You to all of my followers❣️

My creative Jinn escaped for a while ever since the person who first taught me the language of color and design departed.

The sewing machine sits like a still monolith and my dress forms stand naked and judgmental in the corners of my studio.
But I’ve gotten a few glimpses of her, sneaking back around…

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted.

My illustrious mother left this realm on September 7th and I’ve taken a break. But I think it’s only appropriate to credit Mom, known as Lolly, with my creative upbringing. She is pictured in a suit which sewed herself.

She taught me:

Embroidery
Cooking
Baking
Wallpapering
Wall Painting
Driving
…and so much more

She has joined my dad, also a creative artist, but I know they are with me forever. I owe both my innate and learned creativity to them both.
