Years ago, I read The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery, and it completely changed the way I think about octopuses — and honestly, about all life on earth. I know My Octopus Teacher and Remarkably Bright Creatures had a bigger impact on pop culture, but Montgomery’s book is my OG compass on the matter. Knowing that these creatures - that couldn’t be more different than humans - are capable of so much thought and emotion makes me question the potential for intelligence and emotion everywhere.  
And so - I have a habit of picking up little octopus related bits for Tea & Oranges.  For me, they’re little reminders that I know nothing, to question everything and to look for wonder everywhere.  
Octopi and octopodi are also completely acceptable plural forms of octopus - I know you were wondering. - margot
