I layed out the quilt top of 80 squares and have begun the process of sewing them all together. First the horizontal rows of 8 blocks, then iron all the seams and trim the threads, then the 10 vertical rows, then iron the seams again and trim more threads. Lastly will be the 3 borders. Then finding a pleasing backing material, choosing a machine quilter, and making the binding. This project is nearing completion. I’ve reach out to my younger daughter to discuss making a quilt for her next.

Just finishing up a quilt for one of our grandsons, but dreaming and brainstorming summer weight slippers for trip to Florida this spring. I'm madly researching fabric for outer and inner as well as sole material. Do I want cork, leather, suede, or anti slip (like kids footie pj's). I'm thinking Liberty of London Tana Lawn Fabric in a navy print. Looking to make beautiful, but functional to go with navy silk pajamas.

Cooler weather and darker days had me craving a sewing project. So I've started a quilt for one of our grandsons. This will be a 10th birthday gift next year. These are the first 6 of 80 blocks.

Beautiful William Morris fabrics used for this wonderful sewing machine mat I just finished with a pattern from Arabesque Scissors.

I have a new project in the works. I am making a sewing machine mat with lots of pockets for tools. The William Morris Co. fabric is starting to arrive. The pattern is printed and the templates cut out. I am so excited to see this piece come together into a beautiful and highly useful creation. Once all fabrics have arrived I will post some photos. Stay tuned!

I've finished my first basket. It is 6 1/2" tall, 9" across the open top, and 34 1/2" around the widest middle. I am very happy with the results.
