This is Ali and we are new best buddies! Ali was given the challenge of seeking a community member mentor to complete an eighth grade showcase project that she got to choose... and she chose making a dress and luckily she chose me as her mentor! It was random and also divine intervention!

I of course raced over to see her at her showcase and made it just in time to give her a hug and meet the whole fam, she even made me this super cool Rebel Threads themed bracelet 😭🥰

I couldn't be more proud of her for picking a really bold first project and totally killing it! Seriously, incredibly impressed with how much she soaked up in 3 sessions! Posted with permission from her and her parents! Thanks so much for trusting me throughout this process!

This is the community finding me and me being in community with youth so I can help inspire and teach young artists, it's what it's literally all about! 🤘🖤🤘

First real Rebel Threads project… and we’re where it lives.

We visited the Otter Cove Children's Museum installation at the museum... the one we built from scratch last summer. Twelve interactive textile panels, layered with texture, chaos, intention… and a whole lot of hands that made it happen.

Seeing it installed, being touched, experienced- it hits different.

And honestly? The rest of the museum is incredible. Blown away. I’ll absolutely be back.
This is what Rebel Threads is about.

Major thanks and Bravo to Jeff Brown and the team at BKD! And thanks to my family for venturing across the state with me to go check it out!

Grateful doesn’t even cover it.

There’s a moment I’ve been sitting with lately.
In between the chaos, the long days, the not-enough-sleep, the constant figuring-it-out… I look around and realize something really big is happening.

People are showing up.

Rebel Threads has lived in my head for about 10 years. Back when it was just an idea, it didn’t even have a name. I didn’t know what it stood for. Honestly, I wasn’t sure I could stand for it. There was a lot of doubt. There still is.

This whole thing is scary. Day to day, month to month... it’s not lost on me how real this is becoming.

People are sharing my name.
People are walking through the door.
People are helping sort fabric, move boxes, build something that didn’t exist before.

And that… I don’t take lightly.

Every single person who has shown up, told a friend, taken a class, sent a message, or spent even five minutes in this space... you’re part of this.

It’s working. Not perfectly. Not easily. But it’s working.

The ideas are flowing. The pivots are happening. The vision is getting clearer every day.

And I’m just really, really grateful. Thank you.

We had such a strong, creative, and genuinely fun group in the sewing workshop today.
Moments like this are exactly why Rebel Threads exists... to create space for people to learn, experiment, and make something with their own hands.

I’m already looking forward to running this workshop again soon.

This week is a little extra special for me... I’m taking a short family trip to go see the first real Rebel Threads project out in the wild, which feels like a huge full-circle moment.

Before I go, I’m doing a stockroom and fabric reset on Tuesday and Wednesday, and I could use a few extra hands.

If you’ve been curious about the space, want to learn a bit about materials, or just feel like being part of the behind-the-scenes process of building this thing — you’re welcome to join.

Message me or email to jump in.
Thank you to everyone who showed up today and made the space feel alive.

Running a business as a single mom means sometimes everything just… pauses.

Sick kid means a full stop.

Meetings, plans, momentum... all of it takes a back seat for a minute.

I’m clearing my schedule for tomorrow to take care of my girl and reset, but I’ll be back at it Friday for a much-needed Godspell workday.
If you’ve been meaning to jump in, lend a hand, or just be part of the chaos—I could really use the help.

And yes, my kid will likely be curled up in a chair at the shop, supervising in cozy mode.
Real life over here. We roll with it and keep going.

Thank you to all my amazing customers who are also rolling with with the mercury in retrograde punches with grace and kindness! 🤘🖤🤘
