My mother Helen Rutherford taught me to crochet when I was very young, probably 5 or 6. She also taught me how to knit. She and I loved to craft together and she was very experienced at most needle crafts and sewing. I can say I taught her counted cross stitch, which we both did for years. I find that tedious these days so about 10 years ago I started crocheting and knitting again now full spendin

g at least 8 hours a day on one or the other. I have several projects on needles and hooks at one time because there is always some thing fascinating to start. Most of the time. I love working with nice yarns and trying new stitches.
