This community has been so good to me. You have given me so much work to fufill that I am closed to new orders until AFTER the Holidays. 🎉

During this time, because I need to get caught up, I am only open to the public on Mondays from 10am-2pm. I will still be here during my sewing classes on Tuesday and Wednesday, but pre-occupied with the students. You can always stop by when the open sign is on, plus texting me works great. I do not respond via Facebook, my daughter helps me with this. So please help me spread the word to our friends and neighbors.

For some time now, I have had the privilege to care for my mom during her last days. Yesterday we said our final goodbyes. If business is a little behind schedule, this is why. I am so thankful to have had our time together in this little shop. It was a place she loved to come to and relax. We will be having a service for her Friday, December 22nd at the River of Life church 11 am. Love you mom. 💜

Today was a hard one. My daughter’s close friend passed away. I helped with her caregiving too, while she was recently on hospice.

My daughter bought her this hoodie from the Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Peggi was thrilled, so she asked me to incorporate all of it into her bear.

Peggi Rush was a dirt track race-car official and I think I did her proud. We miss you Pit Mama. ♥️

Today, this beautiful American flag is flying out my front window as I work on my projects. We honor so many things in Sweet Home with these flags.

I am working on my Pfaff 130, one of my workhorses. It will sew through anything, including leather. It also helped me fix this race suit. It needed a fire-retardant zipper and fire-retardant thread, which I also have. Let me tell you, it was three layers of heavy duty fire-retardant fabric, but this machine made it all happen. If you know any racers that need help with their suits, give me a call.

I will be closed all week, next week, for Passover. But after that, sewing classes will start again soon. Give me a call if you are interested. ♥️

It is a great day to visit with my mom and our girlfriend. Naomi brought us whoopie pies to enjoy while we reminisce about the good days in Cascadia.

Today, I also finished hemming pants for a wildland firefighter. He asked if I could reinforce some clothing, on his shoulder, where he carries his saw. Turns out I can and will have fire-retardant thread and fabric to help him. 🔥🪓🔥

We are also just about done with our 8 week sewing classes, but the girls want to go another course. So if you missed this class, we have another round starting April 12th. Come and sign up. One of the little gals saw me in the store and was so happy to see me. It was neat. She colored this page for me and did it so meticulously. What a gift. It will go onto my wall today. Thank you for trusting me with a piece of your heart. ♥️

During my lifelong career in the home health and hospice field, I assisted people who were aging. So to say I was a bit nervous about teaching youth, because I had no “teaching experience”, was a bit of an understatement. But with the encouragement of my daughter, we got the sewing lessons going and the girls are really enjoying it. And I am too. It is wonderful to see reviews like this. Thank you for trusting me with a piece of your heart and supporting my little local small business. ♥️

Well, I am getting my classes filled up. But I sure hope to see you there. The homeschool kids are so excited to learn. I have a few in each timeslot. I do have to set the class back by a week, as I must do my civic duty. I was called to jury duty this week on Wednesday, so there is still time to register. Classes start next week, January 25th! Im beary much looking forward to teaching! ♥️

Look what I found today, because I have kept it all this time??!! My very first stitches when I learned how to sew in 8th grade. My teacher taught us how to handstich and make seams with the machine. I remember my first ever project was an apron and then a vest. I was thoroughly confused on the vest! But it fostered a love in me, for all things sewing. I hope to see you down here for sewing lessons in a few weeks too! I would love to teach you and your kids.

I am also sewing new patches for all of the Sweet Home Fire Department’s uniforms. They updated from the covered bridge and the lake, to the American Flag. I have about 75 patches to put on and I am sewing right through it!

Beginning sewing with Renita! We are so excited!!! I am finally caught up on my bears! We have my classroom set-up and I am almost ready to go. My daughters have been a great help setting this up for me!

I have a contract, class schedules, have ordered sewing kits and now am planning lessons. I am ready to offer sewing classes for young people, starting January 18th, 2023. It will be an 8 week course, on vintage machines. I will have three opportunities for beginning classes on Wednesday afternoons. Class size is limited to 5 students per class. I would love homeschoolers and public school students to come learn. I will also offer private one on one lessons to Adults. I am hopeful that a new generation of seamstresses and seamsters can be born.
