This is an original creation made for the Project Quilting contest. "This Way &That Way" - The Snail's Trail takes them in a curvey roundabout dance. The foundation paper pieced 6" blocks are designed by me. I just finished a Nancy Mahoney paper pieced quilt top and thought I would attempt to design this Snail's Trail in a paper pieced octagon with connecting Snails. It is 17" x 23" with quilted swirls in the border and the 2 center squares! I found many ways to upgrade my design, but with only one week to complete the challenge, I kept to the original design. Surprise in today's mail! A quilting friend invited me to join one of those chain mail schemes with fabric! If all goes well. We will receive 72 squares, enough for a quilt! Here are the two I received from Doris and the two I sent to 4 others. Now I just wait to see what else comes in the mailbox!

I'm doing a quilt along "Get Together" from American Patchwork & Quilting. If I can get 36 strip sets sewn, cut and made into 145 Nine Patch blocks by Monday, I'll be caught up with group!

I finished this X-blocks template quilt on Friday. Can't wait to get it on my longarm to quilt it.

This is the start of Ricky Tims 2nd year class "Critique". This year all the classmates critique each other! Our first challenge is "Year Word", what word is your theme or goal for 2019? I chose "Openess" to be open to whatever happens this year. The open hands are feathered to appear to mingle into the clouds which may be enveloping me or I may be moving into the clouds - either way, clouds give me a sense of calmness and remind me to breathe.

This quilt is made from the Musicals done at Dekalb High School. I felt the design on the fabric resembled stage curtain...

This quilt is made from the Musicals done at Dekalb High School. I felt the design on the fabric resembled stage curtains. Each t-shirt has a "spotlight" design quilted on it. Each block was quilted before being joined to the others. This was so much fun to make!

A friend asked for memory bears made from her mother's apparel. Her mother passed earlier in 2017. My sister and I got right on it and finished all 9 before Christmas! My grandson gave some "love" to each one as I did final touch-ups!
