Will you donate to help send Sylaauga's young women to college?
Each year the Miss Sylacauga Organization, through the Sylacauga Parks and Recreation Department, offers a very special scholarship to the candidates competing. Through the years, it became apparent that what was once known as the Patron’s Scholarship was meant to be named the Maxye Veazey Patron’s Scholarship in memory of our beloved Ms. Veazey, who was the Director of Miss Sylacauga for more than 40 years.
It was Ms. Veazey’s desire that the competition benefit all young women who seek to further their education. To this end, we desire to carry on her wishes by providing this scholarship which will be evenly divided among all of the Miss Sylacauga preliminary candidates.
For the supporters of this scholarship, a special section is included in the event program book (if donations are received by September 17) as well as on MissSylacauga.com. Your contributions continue Ms. Veazey's legacy by nurturing young women in realizing their dreams.
There are two methods of contributing:
Click on the below link, in the “Add a note” section, state Maxye Veazey, your name as you wish it to appear for acknowledgements, and former (if you are a former Miss Sylacauga).
Send a check to the below address, noting in the “For” section of the check “Maxye Veazey Patron’s Scholarship.”
