When Cheryl asked me to participate in The Tacoma Light Trail, my mind raced with exciting creative possibilities. What did 2022 mean? What do I hope 2023 will bring?

I’m happy to end 2022 as a participating artist on the Tacoma Light Trail. My window is at 1908 Pacific Ave. The design was inspired by A Christmas Story and classic Tiffany Lamp. The dress lights up on the deep v floral sequin lace panel, soft dropped shoulders trimmed with blue and black beads. The dress is a full, flounce iridescent blue and gold over blue tulle.

In the New Year my hope is to shine brightly and carry light into all of my interactions.

Mine is only one display in Tacoma Light Trail. Check out all of the artists. The variety of expressions shows the limitless ways we shine and bring light to the city.

I know I'll be sewing until it's time to set up this Saturday at the Holiday Vending event at the Mountaineers (2302 N 30th St, Tacoma) Hall. There will be 17 vendors including myself, selling one of a kind items. If you're following me, stop by on Saturday between 10-5 to try something on.

I’m feeling the transition of the seasons . After spending a week and a half in El Paso, TX and coming back to Washington, I’ve been gently dipped back in to the idea of cooler weather, shorter days and life returning to the rhythm of work/school and doing it closer to home. I tend to nest a bit more in fall/winter. I think as a Virgo, full disclosure I’m a September baby; my tendency is to think about the tasks before me, formulate a plan’, and then get to work. If any time at all reflects most naturally how I work, it is the end of Summer. I’ve deeply enjoyed the Summer, even with my family’s tragic loss of my brother. I am awake and embrace this time for thought and creativity.
