“Little Miss Lexi would like to share with you one of the sewing tips I have recently learned. Saves you time and aggravation when dealing with very fine, slippery fabrics which so often find their way onto wedding dresses!
I may be late to the party, but this is such a great tip that I learned from Ryliss, I’m sharing anyway. I am super busy with dogs/puppies/boarders right now and am in the countdown for getting THE DRESS done. This tip has been a lifesaver and time-saver!
When working with the very lightweight fabrics like chiffon or, in my case, double georgette, it helps to spray the fabric with a heavy spray starch prior to handling the fabric. Spray it on, LET IT DRY, then come back and handle the fabric as you will. Cut, sew, mock-up, you name it, it will be easier to handle, have a little more body and grip and save loads of time that might have been spent struggling with flimsy fabric. Once done, the starch simply washes out.
Lexi approves of this message and says it allows more time for playing!
P.S. And, who ever can choose just one photo?!?
