Grey Fox Designs Danish born, American by design. In 1990, Peer married Barbara Bradley, co-founder of Vera Bradley, the colorful and iconic handbag and accessories company.

Season after season, the company’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship was evident in every stitch and seam of Baekgaard bags and accessories, a line of products that expanded over time to include women’s handbags and more. Today, the company is in the capable hands of Barbara Bradley Baekgaard’s sister, Kathryn Bradley, and Kathryn’s son, Will, under a new label inspired by the sisters’ beloved mother, Vera Fox Bradley. As ever, Grey Fox Designs remains dedicated to the ingenuity, functionality, and can-do spirit that defines the Bradley/Baekgaard family of brands.

Not everyone knows the story behind the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, and we think it’s worth sharing!

Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and her college roommate, Mary Sloan, were inseparable. They shared everything from late-night study sessions to big dreams. But when breast cancer entered Mary’s life, it changed everything.

Mary passed away in the early 1990s, leaving a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved her. Instead of letting grief take over, Barbara and her friend Patricia Miller decided to do something meaningful.

In 1993, they launched the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, fueled by their love for Mary and a desire to make a difference. Their mission? To fund innovative research that leads to better treatments and brighter futures.

Thanks to their hard work and the support of our amazing community, we’ve raised over $40 million for breast cancer research!

Each dollar is a tribute to Mary’s spirit and a step toward a world where breast cancer isn’t a threat.
