Today, we recognize Juneteenth.
A day of freedom, truth, remembrance, and unfinished work.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, were finally told they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Today, we honor Black freedom, Black resistance, Black joy, and the generations who keep fighting into tomorrow.
May we remember honestly, listen deeply, and keep working toward the freedom that is achieved by everyone.
