With this brilliant performance, Kipruto enters the legendary pantheon of distance running, matching the iconic lifetime mark of marathon pioneer Eliud Kipchoge 🇰🇪 as the fifth-fastest marathon time in human history!

A fierce Ethiopian contingent put up a relentless chase to round out the global podium at Grant Park. Tadese Bikila 🇪🇹 executed a phenomenal race to cross the line in a clear second place, securing a stellar 2:02:56 🥈. Meanwhile, his compatriot Milkesa Mengesha 🇪🇹 showed incredible strength down the final straightaway, securing third place overall in 2:03:47! 🥉🇪🇹💪

🇺🇸 2026 Chicago Marathon – Women's Race Results 🏃‍♀️💨

Defending champion Hawi Feysa 🇪🇹 of Ethiopia has successfully retained her crown at the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, storming across the finish line in a blistering, lifetime personal best of 2:13:33! With this magnificent tactical victory, Feysa officially climbs to the fourth-fastest spot on the women's marathon all-time list!

The battle for the top spot was a heavyweight duel that came down to the absolute final mile. Two-time Boston champion Sharon Loked 🇰🇪 pushed Feysa to her limit, smashing her own personal best by over three minutes to finish in a spectacular 2:14:07 to take second place. Rounding out the star-studded global podium, two-time Chicago champion Brigid Kosgei 🇰🇪 delivered a powerful performance to cross the line third in 2:14:55, completing a legendary race where three women finished sub-2:15.

Making history behind the lead pack, 28-year-old Emma Grace Hurley 🇺🇸 led the home contingent by placing an incredible 7th overall in 2:20:47, completely demolishing the American marathon debut record.
